C'était la bonne nouvelle du printemps (enfin, à part la naissance de Margot bien sur!...): nous avons signé pour 2.2 Ha de St Joseph!! On doit tout planter, et ça nous prendra 20 ans... oui, il faut s'armer de patience! Et bien à cause des autorisations de plantations. Chaque année nous devons demander à un office national d'agriculture des autorisations pour planter. Et nous avons eu l'autorisation pour environ 1200m2 cette année... d'où le fait qu'il faudra 20 ans pour planter les 2.2 Ha. Mais nous y arriverons :)
Donc cette année, nous avons commencé avec 1241m2 et 1034 plants. Nous avons commencé par la préparation de 500P le vendredi soir, et avons en memo temps préparé le pralin pour les nouveaux pieds, puis planté le samedi et dimanche. Un long week-end, spécialement pour nos petits! heureusement eux aussi sont patients, et entre deux pause biberon, joujou et goûter, on y est arrivé!
Sur la 2ème photo, les petits batons rouges sont les pieds qui ne tarderont pas à donner des bourgeons et rames. Et en fond, ces ont d'autres vignes de St Joseph (pas les nôtres), et entre les 2 collines, à quelques 300m plus bas, vous pouvez imaginer couler le Rhône.

That's the good news of this spring (well, after Margot's birth indeed!...): we've signed for 2.2 Ha of St Joseph!! Well, we'll have to plant it all, and it will take us 20 years to do so... yes, patience is key! Why? Well, because we need authorisations of plantations. Every year we have to ask to the national agricultural office for an authorisation to plant. More or less, we can plant 1200m2 of St Joseph per year... hence 20 yrs to plant it all. But we'll make it eventually :)
Now we started this year with 1241m2 and 1034 plants. We started to spray the 500P Preparation (huh, whats' that now?) on the Friday night, as well as we did some preparation for the roots of the new vines, and planted on the Saturday and Sunday. A long week-end, especially for our oh so patient kids, but between few baby bottle breaks and toy breaks, and the kids smoko (!), we managed to do it!
Now on the second picture, the little red sticks are the young vines which will give buds and shoots in a short while, and at the back you can see some other St Joseph vineyards (not ours), and you'll have to imagine the Rhone river running down below 300m between the 2 hills.
