We are the new kids on the block, freshly installed in the Rhône Valley. In fact, we have been working for other wineries in the area since 2011, but the idea of starting our own winery has now become a reality with 2016 vintage.
Nelly FRANCE coming from Brittany and Arnaud DE BOEL from Belgium, we didn't inherited vineyards - unfortunately, and therefore have to start from scratch. You will indeed hear us talk about plantations quite a lot, with all the hassle of it, like the test of our patience that it represents... Luckily, we have anyhow found some blocks of old vines.
Since then, we have also created our family with Augustin and Margot De Boel-France.
Our winery is located in Lemps, in the northern Rhône, between Lyon and Avignon. We have vineyards in Saint Joseph, Cornas, Collines Rhodaniennes, Côtes du Rhône Villages Massif d'Uchaux and Sainte Cécile, as well as in Côtes du Rhône.
You will also quickly discover that we love eating, and that we enjoy all the funny little stories around the history of gastronomy.
We look forward to guide you through our wines and welcome you on our land.
Nelly, Arnaud, Augustin and Margot.
It could have been a quieter year, but apparently we did enjoy the thrill of 2016. So we have continued to plant in IGP and in Cornas, we've had to finish the house building to move in in June. Then Nelly ended her job to start a negoce company in collaboration with her former boss, and launch a range of South Rhône wines www.nellyfrance.com. In September, we have started our own estate 'Famille De Boel France' so we could launch our first wine from Saint Joseph in spring 2018. Finally, to add a bit of spice, we are expecting a baby girl for March 2018. Tomorrow, we'll be four of us!
Today, we are three: Nelly & Arnaud, with our little almost 2 years old Augustin. Augustin was born in 2016, right in the boom for us. He had then just bought a house and started renovating a part of it for our summer wedding. And of course, we've had to start planting vineyards around the house in IGP, and in Cornas. We even found the time to brew 3 different beers for our wedding. And all this, with 2 full time jobs as well - it seems that everything is possible after all!
